LightingWith the Tek Tx5 or the Aquatinics (both have individual reflectors) how many watts per gallon would you say to keep any corals?
I have heard not a whole lot will do it.

I would be in an average amunt of lighting should be 4-7watts per gallon.
example base on a 100 gallon tank 5 watts per gallon would be 500 watts.
This could be 8 T5 HO 48" 54watts each = 432watts output.
Also by using 2 150 watt Double Ended HQI & 2-54 watt 48" T5 HO
would be a benifit for the system.

the amount of lighting required to keep corals are depending upon how high you are planning to mount the light, what type of lighting, what kind of corals, and the density of nutrients in the system. Ideally, as a reference you would like to start at least 5 watts per gallon and it will vary from here depending on the factors i mentioned above. What size is your tank and what kind of corals do you have or planning to add?

I was at 6watts/gal and now up to 7.25w/gal and definitely seeing some improvements.

lightingwell the reflectors make the T-5s 300% more powerful
so I wouldn't need a whole lot of watts as long as my tank isn't real deep correct?

it really depends on the corals that you have, however, in most cases that is correct.

?????to have an anenome flourish how many watts for a 50 gallon tank with the T-5s with the individual reflectors

In my opinion (which is shared by many others), the watts per gallon is an outdated reference to light intesity. Case and point: a 23w standard flourescent bulb is just as intense (if not more) as a 100w incandescent bulb. I've also kept coral in a "2 watt per gallon" set up  and they grew fine, they didn't reproduce as with MH's, but the health of the corals were visible and the opened well. I've also been hearing that there hasn't been much success with t-5's and anenomes, but I haven't personally researched this thesis.
sorry to rain on anyone's perade, but just my .02, maybe you could be a bit more specific, what kind of anenome are you interested in keeping. some are hardier than others.
